I've always been intrigued with the connection between people and sculptures of the human form. It began when as a child I saw a picture in National Geographic that looked much like the one above, found
here. It was taken at the Vigelands Park in Oslo, which I made sure to visit when I got the chance later in life. I can't remember what photography product (camera or film) it was an advertisement for, but the publishers ran the ad on the back of the National Geographic Magazine a number of times. I was enchanted with the interaction of the massive sculpture and flesh-and-blood little child.
Since then I've looked many times for ways to get pictures of people--often me--interacting with sculptures. I thought you'd be entertained by some here.

On the edge of the Singapore River.

At an outdoor market in Singapore.
And there will be more to come.
Intriguing idea! My favorites are the first and second pic:)
ReplyDeleteI love sculptures too - but to look at and ponder, one of my favorite sculptors is (UK) Henri Moore.
I have never had a passion for them, but these are neat pictures.
ReplyDeleteThis is a fun post. It is great to see people use their creativity and get into the spirit of art.
