In Pope Benedict's latest encyclical, he says most people that reject the idea of eternal life do so because they can not understand what is so great about living eternally when they don't know what eternity is for. He said it better :), but it made me think that an eternity of THIS life does sound miserable, and the goal of those spreading the Good News need to be able to express the idea of eternal life in the presence of God as something desirable.
